A trumpet is sometimes added for a larger horn section sound. All band mates have a highly professional background in performance, arranging and recording. This particular line up enables us to make such a wide range of songs sound like they are supposed to. We truly enjoy working together, as the dance floor shows!
A standard four-hour time period is initially booked. Also available is additional time for the band or our duo featuring cocktail music (sax and jazz guitar) or ceremony music (flute and classical guitar). Pricing varies according to particular dates. Shine offers a sizeable discount for any non-Saturday engagement and a further reduction for any winter date. Don't hesitate to check our availability.
We welcome requests prior to and during performances. Carefully selected pre-recorded music is appropriately featured during two short breaks. One of the best aspects about working together is that we get to play hundreds of songs from all areas of popular music - from swing to classic rock, R & B and the better material heard on the radio right now.
Please view our song list for a more detailed look. We are very open to folks choosing the particular styles they’d like us to concentrate on. Every event is different and we always pay close attention to details.
Shine is the perfect size for a live band! We are a dynamic five piece band featuring: saxophone, guitar, keyboards, bass and drums. Each band member also sings, which is very unusual. Occasionally a trumpet is added to create a fantastic horn section. Everyone reads and writes music.
Our sax and guitar duo has been very popular for live cocktail hour music prior to the band performing. The group is compact enough to play wedding venues that have space restrictions - and large enough to have performed at almost every major hotel and facility in Boston and Massachusetts. We maintain appropriate volume levels at all times and are constantly trusted to work with challenging acoustics.
